I hope you enjoyed this fun curated collection! You might also like the 115+ Images in our The Sea Archives HERE or the 25+ Images in our Father’s Day Clip Art Archives HERE! Every time I see a drawing like this it reminds me of the amazing early ones from the Lewis and Clark expedition! I also made a black and white version without the text and a red version too! The red one really “jumps out at you.” How Fun! It fully describes each individual characteristic of the Crustacean such as the legs, tail, claws, torso, and antennae. As you can see, the Lobster is actually a Natural History Book style of illustration.
#Clam clipt are black and white series#
The first Lobster displayed in this series of three is a 1906 Diagram of a Lobster from an old Children’s school book! I assume it was a Science book of sorts, perhaps specific to Aquatic life. Similar lures to this one are still actually being made today! Natural History Lobster Images However, I would suspect that as an antique it was probably more likely to be a freshwater lure because there weren’t very many (if any) saltwater lures dating that far back.

I suppose that it could be a simulated shrimp as well. Scanned from a rare Antique Printer’s book that dates to Circa 1880’s, the lure looks most likely to be an artificial lobster or crawfish. The Vintage Fishing Lure Clip Art Image seen above is an interesting looking one for sure. I can’t help but consider how tasty the Lobster would be for dinner, while also feeling a bit guilty about it! Illustrated quite well, you can see all of the Lobster’s features, with long tentacles (antennae) and sharp, powerful claws that you wouldn’t want to mess with! One claw is open and possibly in attack mode ready to strike its prey, such as a clam or small fish. They would all be fun for your Father’s Day Card Making projects as well! Vintage Lobster Illustrationsįeatured above is a strong and bulky looking black and white Lobster image. All are nice Lobster pictures to use in your craft or DIY Projects. A Rock Lobster perhaps? Another one is actually a fishing lure, followed by three beautiful illustrations based on a Lobster Diagram. One of our Images displays a Lobster that looks to maybe be walking on a rocky surface.

Common features of this group include segmented bodies with jointed legs, a hard shell called an exoskeleton (meaning it is not attached to a backbone), and no backbone. Other commonly known crustaceans are crabs, crayfish, and shrimp. Today we have a charming collection of Lobster Images! Lobsters belong to the family of Crustaceans.
